Reading time: 2 – 2 minutes
Last night I was checking my Google stats to prepare for my end of month report card post. I started poking around to see some of the metrics Google has that I’ve not looked at. I saw benchmarking under visitors and clicked. After looking at it for a few minutes, I was pretty dang happy with what I saw. According to that metric, I am blowing away sites of a similar size to mine in everything but bounce rate. Take a look!

The blue lines represent Gurl’s Asylum. The gray ones are the averages for sites my size.
I find the fact that all but one is well above average (which is good) to be pretty spiffy, and it gives me motivation to do better.I really need to get going on researching ways to lower my bounce rate, since that being above average is a bad thing!
If you’ve not checked out this feature of Google Analytics, see what it says about your site next time you check your stats. Like me, you might be happily surprised.
Your Turn: What features of Google Analytics are you finding to be useful but don’t see a lot of people talking about? If you’ve found ways to keep your bounce rate down, share them in the comments. I look forward to seeing your thoughts and tactics!
Welcome back! So good to see you again. If you've not subscribed to my RSS feed or by Email, I hope you take a minute to do so. Thanks for coming back. Looking forward to seeing you again soon!
