My first ever blog post in the “real” blog world. Kinda scary Kinda cool. Figured I should introduce myself. Most of my internet friends have taken to calling me just Gurl, which is short for my long time internet nick of southrngurl. I spend way to much time on the internet, but its the least expensive form of entertainment out there today in my less than humble opinion. $50 or less a month is pretty cheap in today’s world for all the media you can find on line, then add in chatting and VIOP and you’ve got all the entertainment one could want

Hmmm, what other factoids to throw out about me. I live in rural Virginia and have for all but about a year or two of my life. Spent a few months in Minnesota and Florida and my first 6 years or so were spent in Florida as well. I was born to navy parents in the UK. My hobbies are mainly internet related but I do enjoy a good book and a good movie. I also DJ with an internet radio station and chat a lot.

When I am not online, I am usually out with my mother who lives just up the road from me or in class. Yes, I went back to college again at nearly 30. Hopefully this time I will finish my degree and be able to find good employment offers!

I am not very close with most of my family. however my mother, sister and her son are an exception to that rule thank goodness. I have also been getting to know our father a bit better since my nephew was born.

I tend to be a very open minded person. I try to see all sides of things, even when I don’t agree with them. I suppose this is why I identify myself as agnostic and really have no party affiliations when it comes to politics. I am VERY opinionated though and enjoy a good debate/discussion on most topics.

I am also  a music fanatic, which is one reason I am with the internet station. I enjoy playing music for my friends, and this is one great way to do so. I like all kinds of music, though I tend to listen to heavy metal and gothic type music more often than not. I do enjoy the popular music of today most of the time as well. So a lot of my blogs will probably be about the music I am listening to, music someone just turned me on to, and similar things.
